Your boss is a jerk. There's obviously a problem with your co-worker, but instead of tackling the hard issue (being territorial about your job is a good way to lose it), he caves and is trying to get rid of you.

I will say, it took me over 10 years after college to get into the career I wanted. It takes time sometimes. What finally did it for me was getting laid off from a job and taking stock. I realized I enjoyed two things, music and computers. I didn't think a career in the former was workable, so I chose the latter. Don't think about money. That's the trap. What do you really enjoy doing? What makes you want to work at it all day without a break and then make you want to go at it again as soon as you get up the next day?

Do that for a living. You'll be much happier and sucess will come.

As for your current job, I'd start looking. Any boss that gives an ultimatum like that is looking for documentation to get rid of you. And having a "break" between jobs isn't all it's cracked up to be. I've had a few of those and unless you're taking your break on a severance package, it sucks.

Good luck.

work commutes suck. i do a total of 2.5 hours a day. hope things work out for you.

p.s. i was trying to comment on your latest post but couldn't. i feel sometimes we think too much about our purpose, calling etc. and in that desperate search we miss out on what's in front of us. i speak as another lost person
